FNCS 2024 OVERVIEW

HOW TO QUALIFY FOR THE MAJORS

Each Major is a Duos competition, as is the FNCS Global Championship 2024. To participate in the Majors, you and your Duos partner must have reached Platinum I rank in Ranked Battle Royale

HOW TO QUALIFY FOR THE FNCS GLOBAL CHAMPIONSHIP 2024

To earn your place in the FNCS Global Championship 2024, your duo will need to reach a qualifying position in any of the three FNCS 2024 Majors. The Last Chance Major isn’t returning for 2024 so be sure to qualify in one of the three Majors.

Major 1Major 2, and Major 3 will pit you against other competitive Fortnite players in your matchmaking region, and you’ll be awarded Series Points based on your performance.

MAJORS - OPEN QUALIFIERS

In the Open Qualifier rounds of a Major, your duo will need to earn as many points as possible across ten matches in a three-hour window to survive knockout and qualify for the next round. Depending on your matchmaking region, the Open Qualifier has three rounds or four rounds.

MAJORS - SEMI-FINALS

Your duo’s placement on the Series Points leaderboard will determine whether you compete in Lower Semi-Finals Round 1 or Upper Semi-Finals Round 1, if you reach the Major’s Semi-Finals. If you do reach the Semi-Finals, you’ll compete in up to three Lower Rounds or Upper Rounds, depending on your leaderboard placement.

MAJORS - GRAND FINALS

Following the Semi-Finals, 50 duos will compete in the Grand Finals of the Major, with the top-performing duos progressing to the Global Championship.

The format of each Major is the same regardless of whether you’re competing in Major 1, Major 2, or Major 3. This means every Major includes two Open Qualifiers, a Semi-Finals, and a Grand Finals. All three Majors are open-lobby. For complete clarity, Siphon will not be included in the 2024 FNCS Majors.

If your duo’s matchmaking region is NA-Central or Europe, there are a total of four rounds in the Open Qualifier to determine if you proceed to the Semi-Finals. If your duo’s matchmaking region is Oceania, Asia, Middle East, or Brazil, there are three rounds in the Open Qualifier to determine if you proceed to the Semi-Finals.

MAJOR SEMI-FINALS

The Semi-Finals of each Major take place across a three-day period, and you’ll compete in either the Lower Semis or Upper Semis depending on your position on the Series Points leaderboard.

Upper Semis Round 1 and Lower Semis Round 1

To qualify for Upper Semis Round 1, your duo will need to be 1st-50th on the Series Points leaderboard. This round consists of five set-lobby matches.

Each match’s winning duo will advance straight to the Grand Finals, while positions 6th-25th after all five matches will advance to Upper Semis Round 2. Positions 26th-50th will proceed to Lower Semis Round 2.

To qualify for Lower Semis Round 1, your duo will need to be 51st-250th on the Series Points leaderboard. This round consists of ten open-lobby matches. You’ll proceed to Upper Semis Round 2 if you place 1st-30th after these matches, or Lower Semis Round 2 if you place 31st-205th.

Upper Semis Round 2 and Lower Semis Round 2

Upper Semis Round 2 consists of five set-lobby matches. Each match’s winning duo will advance straight to the Grand Finals, while positions 6th-25th — after all five matches — will get another chance to make the Grand Finals in Upper Semis Round 3. If your duo places 26th-50th, you’ll proceed to Lower Semis Round 3

Lower Semis Round 2 consists of ten open-lobby matches, and your duo will need to finish 1st-30th to advance to Upper Semis Round 3. Duos who finish lower will be knocked out of the Major.

Upper Semis Round 3 and Lower Semis Round 3

Round 3 of the Upper and Lower Semis consists of three set-lobby matches. If your duo finishes 1st-25th in Upper Semis Round 3, you’ll earn a spot in the Grand Finals.

If you're in Lower Semis Round 3, you’ll need to finish 1st-15th to make it into the Grand Finals. Duos who finish lower will be knocked out of the Major.

MAJOR GRAND FINALS

The Grand Finals of each Major will take place across two days, when competitors can play up to six matches in a three-hour window each day (Saturday and Sunday) for a total of 12 matches. Whether you advance to the Global Championship is based on the cumulative points you earn across these two days. 1.5x points for eliminations and placements are up for grabs on the second day (Sunday)!

While the structure of each Grand Finals is the same across all three Majors, the qualification slots are different. Please see the table below for more information:
